Tell Premier Ford: It’s time to stand up for those who uplift others!
Fix the staffing and health & safety crisis in Developmental Services!
Developmental services workers play a critical role in our communities, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live with dignity and independence.
We make a profound contribution to the well-being of families and communities across the province – but our work remains low-paid, precarious, and undervalued.
Staffing is under-resourced, and many workers must work two or three jobs just to make ends meet. Many of the workers are women, and most don’t have the protection of benefits or pensions.
The lack of supports to meet the needs of Transitional Aged Youth and staffing crisis have contributed to a marked increase in health and safety incidents across the sector, putting workers and the people they care for at risk.
